# Axis Insurance Services/ PLRisk Announces New COO Morgan Smith

Axis Insurance Services, LLC and PLRisk are pleased to announce Morgan Smith as has Chief Operating Officer. This newly created position was critical to the future growth of the company and Morgan brings the breadth of experience to the companies that will help it meet the needs of the significant growth potential.

“I am excited to join our team as the new COO, bringing my passion for excellence and deep expertise to our work in Specialty Lines. This role presents a unique opportunity to partner with industries and clients, delivering tailored insurance solutions that meet their complex professional and commercial needs. Together, we will continue to build on our strong foundation, driving innovation and ensuring our clients receive the best possible service and protection."

Morgan spent 12 years at Liberty Mutual, where she worked in a variety of roles including claims, underwriting, distribution, and client service management departments. It is in this role she developed her management and operational skills. There, she focused on operational excellence and continuous improvement for both internal and external customers. After her tenure at Liberty Mutual, she transitioned to the MGA space with Blackboard Insurance, concentrating on Workers Compensation product launches and claims within Insurtechs.

For the past four years, Morgan has been with Coterie Insurance, where she successfully introduced new products and services to over 60,000 policyholders. Her focus included legal, compliance, scaling, servicing, claims, operations, tech services, business controls, and automation. Morgan is excited to embark on this new opportunity, aiming to streamline operations and achieve efficiency gains within the organization.

Mike Smith, President and CEO had this to say. “Our company has grown from a small basement company to a national organization. It was time to bring in someone that could elevate our operations to fit the needs of our growing customer and retailer partner base. Morgan’s background in operations, MGA, startups and especially systems development will be key to our success. I’m so excited to have her as part of our team and I look forward to her leadership.”

In addition to her professional achievements, Morgan is a co-founder of the Center for Family Wellness, a mental health facility focusing on marriage and family therapy, which she started with her husband. She resides in Oradell, NJ, with her two children and their dog, Pepper.
