# Helping the Community: Spotlighting how our staff helps others

Here at Axis Insurance Service, we encourage giving back to our communities. We also encourage them to do more on their own initiative. Amanda Richey, one of our wonderful Account managers, has done many great things for her community and we are proud to help shine the spotlight on their community efforts.

Amanda’s community outreach focuses on students and their various club activities. One of her biggest contributions is working with the local Cub Scout troop in South Carolina. She works with Pack 725 as their Fundraising Coordinator in helping raise funds to help fund amazing trips the troop wants to do. Through this position, she teaches the elementary school-aged kids fundamental sales skills, including communication, confidence, teamwork, goal-setting, and financial responsibility. This year, they had a target of over $10,000 and have already surpassed that number.

When she isn’t working with the scouts, she is a judge for the debate clubs in her area, evaluating middle and high school students as they develop their public speaking, critical thinking, and debate skills. This is a personal passion for Amanda because she was an active participant in speech and debate throughout high school. Her experience helped her develop confidence, effective communication, critical thinking, and the ability to advocate for herself and others—skills she continues to use in her professional and personal life today.

For Amanda, volunteering is about more than giving her time. It’s about investing in the next generation, building confidence in young leaders, and helping children discover what they’re capable of achieving.

About Amanda

Amanda Richey is a Customer Service representative with our PL Risk Division. She has brought over a decade of leadership and customer service experience. She joined PL Risk after spending a year with Hub International. There she assessed various risks to evaluate what the best E&O coverage for their clients, managing an 84% renewal rate among her clients with different risk mitigation strategies to improve her portfolio performance. Prior to this she worked in various insurance companies such as Allstate and Branch Insurance where her skills created a top performing sales team. Among her many achievements, she was recognized as a Face of Esurance Broker and achieved Presidents Club status several times for developing a top-rated sales team.
