PLRisk is heading back to the links as they will be at PIA’s annual Golf Classic. The event will benefit the Special Olympics as multiple companies compete for a good cause. Teeing off for PLRisk is Assistant Vice President Matt Culkin as he shows off his golf game. The event will be at Eatonville’s Suneagles Golf Club on September 28th from 10AM to 6PM.
The Special Olympics was founded in 1968 to help those with intellectual disabilities. Through the power of sports, people with intellectual disabilities discover new strengths and abilities, skills and success. The athletes find joy, confidence and fulfillment—on the playing field and in life. They also inspire people in their communities and elsewhere to open their hearts to a wider world of human talents and potential.
With over 200 million people with some sore of intellectual disability in the world, the Special Olympics hopes to reach out ot every one of them and give them confidence and skills. With multiple state and national level organizations, it is a far reaching group with many people supporting their cause. The PIA event will be supporting the New Jersey branch and also the national branch.
When asked about his participation in this event, Matt had this to say “Being able to play golf with my fellow peers is a good time. Doing for a charity they have worked with for years makes it better and we hope that all have a good time.
