PLRisk Specialty Insurance Agency, LLC (PLRisk) is pleased to announce that Ornella Cheron, Director of Product Development has been promoted to the position of Assistant Vice President of Service and Operations. Ornella was hired to assist the company in developing new product lines and in launching the company’s new MGU (PLRisk Pro). That program is almost ready to launch, and it is time for Ornella to take on new and exciting responsibilities. In her two years with the company, she has been very busy in developing new products and services and building out the infrastructure for the company’s evolving growth. Her new role is multifaceted and will involve her oversight of the company’s Programs Division, new Service Center as well as the Select Division for handling middle market accounts. Each of these new divisions was created by Ornella through her hard work as well as her team.
About Ornella
Born in Nyack New York and now residing in Atlanta Georgia, Ornella obtained her Business Administration degree from Clayton State University while being a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha. After her graduation, she quickly earned her Producer and Surplus Lines Licenses. Her career began at Specialty Program Group where she started as an underwriter position in the company Underwriters.
In 2019, this hard work was recognized by Loyd’s of London, where she was offered and then subsequently completed a two-week mentorship with Loyd’s Underwriters. That same year, she accepted an underwriter job with Pure Insurance. During her time there, she developed the Jacksonville region and was able to get her company’s retention rate to 92 percent. She was a great part of her company’s culture, facilitating communications between operations and the underwriting team.
Three years later she was scouted and then hired by PLRisk Advisors, Inc (now PLRisk Specialty) to head up their Special Projects Division with a new MPL Program as its first major project. As a Director of Special Projects, she was involved in many aspects of the company’s future development and spent the first year building out the MPL program. With her new position, she will become a member of the management team and will help guide the company with its vertical growth initiatives. The new PLRisk Pro division will be providing miscellaneous professional liability nationwide. Our new Service Center will allow us to more effectively process client needs while allowing our sales team to grow and expand their client networks. Ornella has been instrumental in the development of each of these areas of the company and its these reason that it is only appropriate to highlight her in this Spotlight.
